Paddy McGuinness is ‘being lined-up to front his own BBC Radio 2 show’ after impressing viewers while he stood in for host Rylan Clark last month.
The TV personality, 50, temporarily held the fort for Rylan’s Saturday afternoon show while he was away filming ‘something very special’.
And while Rylan was gone, it seems Paddy went down a hit with listeners and is now in talks for a long-term slot, according to new reports.
A source told The Sun: ‘Paddy is a natural fit for Helen’s vision of Radio 2, and kingslot96 is an effortless broadcaster.
‘He’s proven a hit with listeners since filling in for Rylan, and was brought in for talks about the future.

‘Like fellow Bolton-born host Vernon Kay, Paddy’s Northern tones — and cheesy dad jokes — work well on air, and he has come up with some brilliant, innovative ideas for formats of his own.’
MailOnline have contacted Paddy’s representatives for a comment.
Paddy bought an ‘endless supply of dad jokes’ to the hit show every Saturday from 3pm to 6pm, while Rylan was away.
The father-of-three has also previously held the fort on Vernon Kay’s mid-morning show in November while the host was running an ultra marathon for Children In Need.
It comes after Paddy issued an update on his divorce proceedings with his estranged wife Christine as he admitted that they ‘still love’ each other.
The presenter revealed that they are ‘not rushing into a divorce’ as told how they hug and call each other everyday – despite Christine hiring a divorce lawyer.
Paddy and TV personality Christine, 35, announced they had parted ways in July 2022 after 11 years of marriage.
He told the Sun that while his and Christine’s living arrangements are unique, they do not live in toxicity and they never get into arguments.

The presenter, revealed that they are ‘not rushing into a divorce’ as told how they hug and call each other everyday – despite Christine hiring a divorce lawyer
The comedian told the publication: ‘We both love each other.
‘Sometimes I forget we’re separated and I suppose it must be strange for people looking at it from the outside in.
‘We still hug, and we’re still messaging and phoning each other every day, we’re just not jumping into bed together any more.’
‘The reality, though is that I don’t think either of us are in a rush to get a divorce’, he later added.
Paddy went on to reveal that there is more love and laughter in their home than arguments and the only time the pair disagree is when the divorce lawyers are involved.
He said the pair of them are still single and Christine still wears her ring, just on the other hand.
It comes soon after Christine hired the no-nonsense family lawyer Catherine Bedford of top London firm, Harbottle and Lewis.
Nicknamed the ‘pitbull,’ she represented Ant McPartlin’s wife Lisa in her bitter battle with the I’m A Celeb star, while she is also acting for Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who split from American singer Joe Jonas last year.

A friend of Christine’s told the Daily Mail: ‘The gloves are off, she was good to Paddy, she stayed at home and brought up his children while he was out earning money.
‘It’s going to be an expensive divorce for Paddy. Christine has had enough.’
The Harbottle and Lewis website states: ‘Depending on each client’s needs, Catherine’s approach is tailor made – whether that be successful negotiating outside of the court process or tough litigating within it.’
According to the website, partners charge £535 an hour but it is likely Catherine, who was named family lawyer of the year in 2022, will charge more.
The amicable former couple still live together in their family home to co-parent their children, twins Felicity and Leo, 10, and daughter Penelope, seven – who all have autism.
Model Christine is said to be determined to stay in the £4million home with her children.
She was also left ‘devastated’ after she found out her estranged Paddy is making a ‘mockumentary about their divorce’.
According to The Sun, a friend close to Christine has revealed that she found out about Paddy’s plan after reading about it online.
Paddy went on to reveal that there is more love and laughter in their home than arguments and the only time the pair disagree is when the divorce lawyers are involved
They told the publication: ‘Christine is distraught that their divorce is going to be the butt of the jokes.
‘She’s completely broken over the divorce and we are genuinely worried about her.
‘Paddy didn’t tell her about the pilot. The fact she had to find out online, like everyone else, that he was doing this has broken her even more.’
